ATL is one of the busiest airports in the world and is well-connected to downtown Atlanta via MARTA. Take the Red or Gold Line from the airport to Five Points station — Mercedes-Benz Stadium is about a 10-minute walk or one more stop from there. The whole trip runs about 25–30 minutes and avoids Atlanta's notorious traffic entirely.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is surrounded by downtown Atlanta parking decks and surface lots. The stadium has affiliated parking nearby but most fans use the broader downtown garage network. Pre-purchasing via the team website or SpotHero is recommended for bigger matches. MARTA is genuinely the better option — post-match traffic around the stadium is significant.
Tailgating around Mercedes-Benz Stadium is informal — the urban setting doesn't lend itself to traditional lot-based tailgating. Atlanta United's passionate Five Stripes supporters groups (Faction, Resurgence) have dedicated pre-match gatherings at nearby bars. Check supporter social media before each match for current meetup spots.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is exceptionally well-served by MARTA. The Vine City station on the Red/Gold Line is an 8-minute walk from the main gates, and CNN Center station is also close. MARTA runs extended service on match nights. This is Atlanta — take the train and skip the parking altogether.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is in the Vine City/English Avenue area just west of downtown. Castleberry Hill is a short walk south, and the downtown hotel corridor is 15–20 minutes on foot. The area around the stadium is actively developing but not yet a rich pre-match walking scene — the best pre-match spots require a short rideshare or MARTA hop.
Bike parking is available around Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta's BeltLine trail system connects several neighborhoods to the downtown stadium area, making cycling a viable option for fans coming from Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, or Midtown.
Accessible parking is available in ADA-designated spaces in the affiliated stadium lots — pre-purchase is recommended. The accessible drop-off zone is on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr near the main entrance. For accessibility services, contact Mercedes-Benz Stadium at (470) 341-5000.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is one of the most impressive sports venues in North America, and Atlanta United has filled it brilliantly since joining MLS in 2017. The retractable roof, a unique 360-degree halo video board, and a transparent exterior skin make it a striking building from every angle. For soccer, the configuration seats around 42,500 fans, but the atmosphere — especially in the supporters' section — punches well above that number.
The stadium sits in downtown Atlanta's Vine City neighborhood, adjacent to State Farm Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center. MARTA's Vine City and Dome/GWCC stations both put you within a few minutes' walk. The surrounding area has plenty of options for pregame, and the stadium's own concession prices are famously fan-friendly — a deliberate choice by ownership that's worth acknowledging.
Sealed water bottles no larger than 16.9oz are allowed into the stadium.
Parents accompanying children may bring plastic bottles of non-frozen formula or milk inside of the stadium, however these bottles must be carried in a clear bag meeting the stadium’s Clear Bag Policy guidelines and are subject to search upon entry.
Outside food is not permitted.
Exceptions will be made for those with medical requirements and/or special needs.
The stadium is a clear bag only venue. Guests are encouraged to limit the number of items they bring with them to the stadium.
Only (1) one of the following style and size bag, package, or container per person:
Prohibited bags include but are not limited to large purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Diaper bags must be clear and comply with the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Clear Bag Policy.
Bag check will be available at Gates 1 and 2.
Exceptions will only be made for medically necessary items that do not fit into a clear bag.
Main Concourse - Atlanta's beloved BBQ institution brings slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, and housemade sides to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The brisket sandwich is exceptional.
Lower Concourse - Nashville-born, Atlanta-adopted. Choose your heat level carefully — the "Shut the Cluck Up" is a genuine challenge. The hot chicken sandwich is a stadium standout.
Throughout the Stadium - Mercedes-Benz Stadium is famous across American sports for its fan-friendly pricing. Hot dogs, sodas, water, and popcorn all available for $1.50 or $2. Genuinely remarkable for a major stadium.
Every home game Atlanta United players and supporters sign a big golden spike. Then before the game, a chosen ATLien hammers in the golden spike as a nod to the city's history of the railroad.
Additionally, after the final whistle, the player of the game is presented witha smaller golden spike as a memento.
The Atlanta United Supporters Tailgate & Fan Village begins 4 hours prior to kick off for each home match.
At 90 minutes to kickoff, the 17s gather together and march into Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Filled with flares, drums, and chants, the rowdy and proud make their presence known on matchday. Everyone is welcome to the march, no matter what age. As long as you’re repping ATL UTD, the 17s are your family.
It's in 329 when the entire stadium is open
Non-Atlanta United team apparel will not be allowed in the Supporter Section.
This includes any opposing MLS & international clubs as well as national team apparel.

I'm not exactly sure if these are official supporters chants, but view them here.
In the Stands offers apparel for fans who enjoy visiting ballparks and stadiums. While we all have our favorite teams, there are times when they aren't the ones playing. Our goal is to create a sense of community and camaraderie whenever you see someone wearing In the Stands apparel.
