DFW is just 8 miles from Globe Life Field — one of the best airport-to-ballpark distances in MLB. A rideshare from the terminal runs $15–25. The TEXRail commuter rail also connects DFW's Terminal B to downtown Fort Worth, with a stop at Globe Life Park (adjacent to the new stadium), making it one of MLB's rare airport-with-rail connections.
Globe Life Field has extensive on-site and adjacent parking in the Arlington Entertainment District. The Rangers operate multiple lots around the stadium complex. Pre-purchase online for the best rates. Parking is plentiful and well-organized in the large Arlington sports complex.
Tailgating in the surrounding lots is a popular pre-game activity. The Texas Live! entertainment complex adjacent to Globe Life Field also provides an indoor alternative with bars and restaurants connected directly to the ballpark campus.
TEXRail stops at the Globe Life Park station, an 8-minute walk from Globe Life Field. The line runs from DFW Airport Terminal B through downtown Fort Worth — a genuinely useful connection for visitors flying into DFW. Check trinityrailexpress.com for schedules and any game-day service extensions.
Globe Life Field is in a suburban Arlington sports complex with no surrounding residential neighborhood. Texas Live! and the adjacent entertainment campus provide walkable options once you've arrived, but getting there requires a car, rideshare, or TEXRail.
Bike parking is available near the stadium. The Arlington Entertainment District has some cycling infrastructure, though the suburban setting makes it less practical for most fans coming from Dallas or Fort Worth.
Accessible parking is available in ADA-designated spaces throughout the official lots. The accessible drop-off zone is near the main entrance. For accessibility services, contact the Rangers at (817) 533-1972 or visit rangers.com/accessibility.
Globe Life Field opened in 2020 in Arlington, Texas as the Rangers' new home, replacing the beloved but aging Globe Life Park next door. It holds around 40,300 fans under a retractable roof — a design decision shaped by Texas's extreme summer heat — with a natural grass playing surface and a climate-controlled interior that makes summer baseball genuinely comfortable. The roof's distinctive cable-and-glass design floods the interior with natural light even when closed.
Arlington is located between Dallas and Fort Worth, about 20 miles from each downtown, in a sprawling entertainment district that includes AT&T Stadium (home of the Cowboys) and several other attractions. The area is heavily car-dependent — there's no rail transit serving the stadium — so driving or ridesharing are the only practical options. The surrounding entertainment district has restaurants and bars, and the Rangers have built a strong fan base that fills the new park well on big game nights.
You are allowed to bring in one factory sealed bottle of water that is one liter or less.
Single-serving food items in quart-sized zip-lock bags are permitted. No outside food in premium areas.
Soft-sided bags no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" are permitted. Backpacks and all hard-sided coolers are not permitted. Medical and diaper bags are permitted with inspection.
Globe Life Field opened in 2020 with a retractable roof designed specifically for Texas heat, and the lower bowl is excellent. Field level sections behind home plate offer premium sightlines in a fully climate-controlled environment. The Rangers dugout is on the first base side. The park’s design is clean and modern, and every seat benefits from the air conditioning when the roof is closed.
Globe Life Field’s upper deck mid-infield sections give you a solid elevated view of the full field at a significant price discount. The enclosed environment means comfort is consistent from any section — the decision is purely about sightlines and distance, not shade or temperature. A good value pick for most games.
Globe Life Field is a modern, well-designed stadium without the obstruction issues of older parks. The main seats to skip are the far upper deck corners, where the angle to the infield gets steep. The enclosed design means you’re not trading off comfort for price anywhere in the park — just avoid the distance and angle extremes.
The roof at Globe Life Field is closed for the vast majority of games from spring through early fall — Dallas-Fort Worth summers are simply too hot for comfortable outdoor baseball. When the roof is open for spring or fall games, the right field/first base side faces west and gets the most afternoon sun. For most visits, sun and shade are simply not a consideration.
Texas summer heat and humidity make the retractable roof essential from roughly May through September. Inside, Globe Life Field is a comfortable, air-conditioned experience designed specifically for the climate. Spring and fall games with the roof open are pleasant. The park opened in 2020, making it the newest retractable roof stadium in baseball, and its climate control system is among the best in the sport.
Main Concourse, Section 101 - Fort Worth's acclaimed BBQ institution with a devoted Texas following. The beef rib is the star — arrive early before they sell out. One of the best things you can eat at any MLB ballpark.
Texas 24" Stand, Section 132 - Globe Life Field's most famous food item: a two-foot-long hot dog topped with chili, cheese, caramelized onions, and jalapeños. A Texas-sized ballpark tradition worth experiencing at least once.
Upper Concourse, Sections 202-203 - Houston's beloved craft brewery has a dedicated bar area with great elevated views of the field. The Rodeo Clown IPA on draft is the move for a Texas summer ballgame.
Globe Life Field's retractable roof is the defining feature of the stadium, opened specifically to make summer baseball survivable in Arlington's extreme Texas heat. The cable-stayed roof floods the interior with natural light when closed, and the climate-controlled environment makes it genuinely comfortable even in July and August.
