Driving & parking

Driving Tips
Take I-95 to the NW 8th St exit west into Little Havana, or SR-836 (Dolphin Expressway) to the NW 17th Ave exit. The ballpark is easy to spot from the expressways. Post-game exit is straightforward via the surrounding expressway network.
Parking Cost Estimate:
$10–$20 (loanDepot park garage and adjacent lots)

loanDepot park has a large on-site parking garage adjacent to the stadium, as well as surface lots on the surrounding blocks in Little Havana. The team-operated garage is the most convenient option. Pre-purchase online for better rates. Parking is generally less expensive here than at most MLB stadiums in major markets.

Tailgating
$10–$20 (loanDepot park garage and adjacent lots)

Tailgating is informal around loanDepot park in Little Havana. The pre-game scene extends into the surrounding neighborhood — Calle Ocho (SW 8th St) and the Little Havana cultural district offer a distinctly Miami pre-game experience unlike any other in MLB.

Best Neighborhood to Walk From:
Little Havana / Brickell

loanDepot park sits in the heart of Little Havana — one of Miami's most culturally distinctive neighborhoods. Calle Ocho and the surrounding Cuban cultural district make arriving on foot from the neighborhood a genuine pleasure. Brickell is a 20-minute walk east. This is a walkable urban ballpark experience with a uniquely Miami flavor.

Bike Parking:

Bike parking is available near the stadium. Miami's Citi Bike system has stations in Little Havana and the surrounding neighborhoods. The flat terrain and growing bike lane network make cycling from Brickell, Downtown Miami, or Wynwood a genuine option.

rideshare

Rideshare drop-off is along NW 16th Ave near the main entrance. Post-game, loanDepot park's relatively modest crowds (by MLB standards) mean surge pricing and wait times are more manageable than at busier venues.

accessibility

Accessible parking is available in the stadium garage and adjacent lots with ADA-designated spaces. The accessible drop-off zone is on NW 16th Ave near the main entrance. For accessibility services, contact the Marlins at (305) 480-1300 or visit marlins.com/accessibility.

At the Game

LoanDepot Park opened in 2012 in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood and is the only retractable-roof, air-conditioned ballpark in baseball — essential in Miami, where summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms would make open-air baseball genuinely unpleasant for several months of the season. It holds just under 37,000 fans and features a bold, colorful design including a large decorative sculpture in left field that activates when the Marlins hit a home run.

The Little Havana location puts the ballpark in one of Miami's most culturally rich neighborhoods, and Calle Ocho — SW 8th Street — is nearby with Cuban restaurants, bakeries, and a lively street scene. The stadium is accessible via Metrobus and the Citi Bike network from Brickell, though most fans drive given Miami's car-centric layout. The park has a reputation as a quiet atmosphere on most nights, but the facility itself is genuinely impressive.

SEATING

Best Seats

Field level sections 8–16 behind home plate.

LoanDepot Park’s retractable roof means every seat is comfortable regardless of Miami’s weather, which is a significant upgrade over outdoor baseball in South Florida. The field level behind home plate is close to the action with clean sightlines. The Marlins dugout is on the first base side. The park’s colorful, modern design makes for a visually unique experience.

Good Value

Club Level mid-infield sections 214–226.

The Club Level offers comfortable mid-tier seating with in-seat service at a step down from the premium field level. Mid-infield sections give you a clean elevated view of the full field. Given the air-conditioned environment, comfort is consistent throughout the park — value is the main differentiator here rather than shade or weather positioning.

Avoid These

Far upper deck corner sections, and any seats with limited sightlines to the infield in the outfield corners.

LoanDepot Park is a modern stadium without the obstruction issues of older parks. The main seats to avoid are the far upper deck corners where the angle to the infield gets steep. The park’s enclosed design means comfort is consistent, so the decision is mostly about sightlines and distance rather than weather or sun exposure.

Sun

Sun exposure is largely irrelevant — LoanDepot Park’s retractable roof is almost always closed due to Miami’s heat and afternoon thunderstorms.

The roof at LoanDepot Park is closed for the vast majority of games — Miami’s combination of intense summer heat and near-daily afternoon thunderstorms makes outdoor baseball impractical for much of the season. On the rare occasions the roof is open, the right field/first base side faces west and gets the most afternoon sun. For most visits, sun and shade are simply not a factor.

Weather

Miami’s heat and daily summer thunderstorms mean the roof is almost always closed — LoanDepot Park operates as an indoor venue for most of the season.

South Florida’s combination of intense heat, humidity, and near-daily afternoon thunderstorms in summer makes the retractable roof essentially mandatory from May through September. Inside, it’s a comfortable, air-conditioned experience. The park opens the roof for a limited number of games in the spring and fall when conditions allow. Miami Marlins games have the most consistently comfortable indoor conditions in baseball.
