At the Game

Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto opened in 1989 and was one of the engineering marvels of its era — the world's largest retractable roof at the time, covering a multi-purpose stadium that also hosts the CFL's Argonauts and major concerts. It holds around 49,000-53,500 for baseball depending on configuration. The artificial turf and cavernous dome interior give it a feel unlike almost anywhere else in MLB, which is either a charm or a drawback depending on your perspective.

The location is genuinely excellent — Rogers Centre sits in the heart of downtown Toronto's Entertainment District, steps from the CN Tower and within easy walking distance of the waterfront, restaurants, and hotels along King and Front Streets. Union Station transit hub is a short walk away, connecting subway, GO Transit, and UP Express to the airport. Toronto's downtown is one of the most vibrant in North America, and a Blue Jays game is a natural anchor for a day in the city.
