WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina — just outside Raleigh — has served as home to the North Carolina Courage since the club's early days in the NWSL. The stadium holds around 10,000 fans in a compact, soccer-focused facility. Despite the modest size, the Courage have been one of the most successful clubs in the league, which has given it an outsized reputation in women's soccer circles.
Cary is a suburban community without strong public transit connections to Raleigh, so driving is the primary way to get there. Parking is available on site. The intimate scale of the venue means that even modest crowds create a strong atmosphere, and the Courage's track record of success has built a loyal, knowledgeable fan base. For fans of women's soccer, it's a worthwhile destination in a sport where the quality of play often outpaces the facilities.
No outside liquids. One empty, clear plastic bottle up to 32oz per fan is permitted to be used at water stations inside.
No outside food or drink of any kind. Medical and dietary exceptions may be accommodated.
Only clear bags are allowed. Clutch purses (no larger than 4.5" x 6.5") and diaper bags (with infant) are permitted. Backpacks with multiple pockets and bags larger than 14" x 14" are not allowed.
In the Stands offers apparel for fans who enjoy visiting ballparks and stadiums. While we all have our favorite teams, there are times when they aren't the ones playing. Our goal is to create a sense of community and camaraderie whenever you see someone wearing In the Stands apparel.
