Shell Energy Stadium serves as home to the Houston Dash in the NWSL — the same venue that houses the Houston Dynamo in MLS. The stadium opened in 2012 as a soccer-specific facility in the East Downtown (EaDo) neighborhood, holding just over 22,000 fans. It's a solid, purpose-built venue with good sightlines and a dedicated atmosphere, particularly in the supporter sections.
EaDo has grown significantly around the stadium in recent years — what was once a mostly industrial area now has a cluster of bars, restaurants, and breweries that make the pregame scene genuinely worthwhile. The METRORail stops at the EADO/Stadium station, making it one of the better transit-accessible venues in Houston. The tight urban footprint and walkable surroundings make it a better experience than many suburban MLS venues.
